SPECIAL MENTION for Sustainable Living
Project Description:
Nestled among verdant flora along the serene banks of Vaitarna, this estate stands ensconced by water on three sides, resembling an island. Roving through the lumbers and clustered sloping roofs that echo the local architecture, the path leads to the villa nested in the corner, unveiling vistas of infinite blue. Adhering to legal constraints of plinth height, the structure is mounted on a raised platform, deftly connecting with the surrounding water while minimizing ground disruption and preserving existing trees. The elongated overhangs of sloping roof along with the pivoted panels on the west facade provide natural shading, shielding against direct sunlight and heavy rain and manage privacy, contributing to sustainability goals. With expansive windows, the design embraces transparency, seamlessly blending with its natural habitat and fostering an airy ambiance. TOSTEM ATIS windows ensure resilience against elements like heavy rains and winds, harmonizing effortlessly with the villa's aesthetic and environmental ethos.
