DIALOGUES BETWEEN OPENING & SPACE
Architecture that connects.
Dialogues Between Opening and Space
The 4th TOSTEM Asia Design Award invites architects across India, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam to explore how the relationship between opening and space can shape residential architecture. Under this year’s theme, the opening is considered not simply as a functional element, but as an architectural interface between interior living and the surrounding environment.
Doors and windows do more than provide access. They frame light, guide air, shape atmosphere, and define how space is experienced.
Guided by CONNECTING SPACES OF LIVING, we welcome residential designs that show how openings can respond to context and give architectural expression to the way we live.

CATEGORIES
TADA 2026 celebrates residential design across three unique categories.
4 Winners
This award honors outstanding completed residential projects that demonstrate excellence in architectural design and a masterful command of spatial quality.
The Core Philosophies
- Fluidity & The Interstice: Openings are no longer just visual tools; they are emotional tuners. We celebrate designs that seamlessly blend indoor tranquility with outdoor dynamism, honoring the joints where two worlds meet.
- Evanescence (The Art of Vanishing): When boundaries are pushed to their limits, they seemingly disappear. We seek architecture that plays with "presence" and "absence," prioritizing the experience of space and time over mere physical form.
What We Look For
We seek visionary projects that demonstrate:
- Architectural Articulation: A bold identity that challenges traditional boundaries.
- Spatial Poetics: Exceptional planning that embraces the "Art of Vanishing."
- The Art of the Interface: Smart integration of TOSTEM systems, balancing Eastern spatial wisdom with flawless contemporary engineering.
- Contextual Resonance: A continuous, sustainable dialogue with the local climate, community, and landscape.
Eligibility
- Project must be completed residential projects built between 2022 - 2026.
- Must integrated TOSTEM products.
Notes:
*TADA reserves the right to reassign projects to a more suitable category if necessary.
**As the competition's highest accolade, the Building of the Year Award is evaluated exclusively from the top winning projects of each participating nation.
