Project Description:
A response to the surrounding environment, which remains well-preserved and carefully maintained, is expressed through the provision of lush green areas as gardens, appropriate to the location and context of the tropical archipelago.
Users are invited to enter through variations in the depth of the building masses, which create an inviting sense of movement that seems to draw them inward. Inside, occupants remain connected to nature through openings that frame the surrounding landscape. The experience feels as though the journey simply continues from the outside to the inside, only to unconsciously find oneself outside again. This house also incorporates Balinese local architectural traditions, particularly through the use of hipped roofs with generous terraces and extended roof overhangs that provide protection from direct sunlight. The placement and orientation of the building masses are arranged separately and sequentially according to levels of privacy, while surrounding a central garden to maintain a continuous connection with nature.
We chose to use products from TOSTEM for several reasons. First, as an aluminium framing company, TOSTEM offers products with excellent quality, along with a wide range of options that can be matched to the specific conditions and preferences of each individual.
Second, the products feature seamless forms and proportions, making them highly suitable for integration into architectural designs. This allows them to enhance the spatial experience by creating openings that effectively connect the visual qualities and atmosphere of the exterior with the interior, and vice versa.
